Welcome to the February, 2021 Harmony Way Newsletter!
💖
With everything happening in the world, it is more important than ever for compassion and love, starting with self-compassion and self-love, to be ongoing, central practices in our lives.
Help those who might feel left out or unloved to feel included, supported and safe. It will change your life in a positive way (and theirs, too) if you do.
Each of us has the power to make at least small changes toward a kinder, more loving and compassionate world. Check in on your loved ones, neighbors and acquaintances. Offer your support and assistance whenever possible and in whatever way(s) you can manage. It will make a difference for others. It will also enrich your life in beautiful ways.
We are in this together,
even if we still have to be physically separated.
You are amazing. I believe in you.
I am sending you love, hugs and support this month.
Know that you are never alone and are loved, especially if life is challenging and in the middle of a pandemic.

Virtual Monthly Support Group for
Parents/Guardians of Children/Teens Who Have Experienced Sexual Assault/Abuse:
Free support group specifically tailored for the parents/guardians of those who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual assault. Your children have their own important story to tell with their own personal trauma. However, how can parents and other caretakers better understand the trauma behaviors of their loved ones in the aftermath of this experience...and how can they process their own feelings of trauma, guilt, shame, regret, grief, anger, etc. while receiving support from others in a safe space, so they know they are not alone?
We meet one Saturday morning per month for one hour on a first-name-only basis via Zoom. Donations are welcome, but entirely optional and not required. Parents/guardians from all family constellations are welcome. Advance registration is necessary. *This is NOT a substitute for therapy or other mental health treatment.* Please get in touch if you are a parent/guardian who would like to join this support group.
First Meeting: Saturday, February 27th, 10:00 AM EST
(via Zoom)

Above is a relaxing guided meditation to help you feel calm and grounded, as well as a full body, low impact workout that is both a toning and cardio workout. It is important to workout our bodies AND our minds as often as possible.
Always check in with your medical health provider before starting a new workout program, being mindful of any existing conditions or injuries that you have, bringing these up with a medical professional prior to trying any workout routine.
Did you know that there is usually arsenic in rice (regardless of which type you buy)? I know...this is alarming! Above is more information about this area and how to avoid it as much as possible. There is also a helpful article that may assist with determining whether you have a cold or something more serious (though only a qualified medical professional can diagnose this for certain).
Above are two delicious, warming recipes, which are perfect for the depths of winter! Enjoy a little self-love and self-care with either or both of these recipes, which are immune health friendly and cozy.
PS Your daily chores and other "ordinary" activities can be made special, even sacred, by simply practicing mindfulness in all you do each day, slowing down to enjoy life, to experience all of your senses and to breathe more deeply on a regular basis. Get outdoors as often as possible.
